Alberta's retail trade value increased by 3.2% in August 2018 compared to August 2017, to $6.88 billion. Nationally, retail sales increased by 3.6% over the same time frame. In Alberta, gasoline stations (+22.7%) and building material sales (+4.5%) saw the largest increases. Sporting goods, hobby, book & music (-5.2%) had the largest decrease.
