The dollar volume of homes sold in Alberta through the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) decreased 19.9% to $937.7million in January 2019 compared to the same time period a year earlier. Nationally, total sales values were down 9.4%, with British Columbia posting the largest decrease (-37.9%). Quebec had the largest sales increase, up 18.0% to $1.67 billion.
In Alberta all areas experienced a drop in sales volume. Fort McMurray had the largest decrease (-37.5%), while Lethbridge had the lowest decrease (-5.0%).
