Oil production in Alberta was 17.6 million cubic metres in January 2023, up 0.3% compared to January 2022. Non-conventional (or oil sands) production, which constituted 83.3% of all oil production in Alberta in January 2023, decreased by 2.2% year-over-year, while production of conventional oil increased by 14.4%.
