Alberta's international merchandise exports were $15.1 billion in December 2022, an increase of 8.3% from a year earlier. Canadian exports increased by 10.1% over the same time period. In Alberta, the year-over-year gain in Energy products was 3.4%, which comprised 75.0% of total merchandise exports. In 2022, Alberta recorded $203.9 billion in international merchandise exports, an increase of 47.7% over 2021. Energy products recorded the highest value of exports at $158.3 billion, up 59.1% over the same time period. Approximately 89.7% of all Alberta exports were destined for the United States during 2022.
