In Alberta, urban housing starts totaled 1,907 in October 2019, a year-over-year increase of 34.8%. Canadian housing starts fell by 3.5% over the same period. In Alberta, apartment units had the largest gain (155.6%), while semi-detached units declined by 1.7%. Single-detached units and row units increased by 10.5% and 36.8% respectively.
