In Alberta, urban housing starts totaled 2,579 in August 2019, a year-over-year decrease of 7.7%. Canadian housing starts increased by 12.4% over the same period. In Alberta, apartment units had the largest decline (-14.9%), while single-detached and row units declined 4.4% and 2.6% respectively. Semi-detached units increased by 4.5%.
