In Alberta, urban housing starts totaled 2,762 in September 2019, a year-over-year increase of 51.2%. Canadian housing starts rose by 14.4% over the same period. In Alberta, apartment units had the largest gain (230.7%), while semi-detached and row units declined 10.4% and 21.1%, respectively. Single-detached units increased by 8.4%.
