Farm cash receipts increased by 15.7% to $4.8 billion in the first quarter of 2021 as compared to the same quarter in 2020. The national average for the first quarter was an increase of 15.5%. New Brunswick saw the largest decrease of any province (-17.5%), while Prince Edward Island had the largest increase (+28.0%). In Alberta, crop receipts increased 30.7% while direct payments and livestock receipts increased 6.5% and 0.9% respectively.
