Farm cash receipts decreased by 5.7% to $3.9 billion in the first quarter of 2018 as compared to the same quarter last year. The national average for Q1 was a decrease of 5.3%. Saskatchewan saw the largest decrease of any province, while New Brunswick had the largest increase (+11.0%). Alberta crop receipts decreased by 9.4% to $2.1 billion, while livestock receipts increased 3.7% to $1.6 billion and direct payments declined 31.8% to $142.8 million.
