Analysis

PUBLISHED - Mar 30, 2021
In January 2021, average weekly earnings in Alberta remained the highest in Canada at $1,231, an increase of 5.4% from January 2020. Nationally, average weekly earnings were $1,134 in January 2021, up 8.4% from the same period in 2020. The large year-over-year increases across Canada are largely reflective of job losses related to COVID-19 being concentrated among lower-paid employees.
