The number of exploratory and development wells drilled in April 2017 increased 280.6% from the same period a year ago, from 67 to 255. All well types experienced gains, with the most substantial numbers being added in the crude oil development wells category, jumping from 7 in April 2016 to 37 in April 2017 and bitumen development wells category, increasing from 17 to 101.
