Alberta's retail trade value increased by 2.1% in January 2018 compared to January 2017, to $6.8 billion. Nationally, retail sales increased by 3.6% over the same time frame. In Alberta, all retail sectors increased, with building materials (+22.0%) and furniture and home furnishings (+16.3%) increasing the most.
