The dollar volume of homes sold in Alberta through the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) decreased 6.6% to $2.62 billion in June 2018 compared to the same time period a year earlier. Nationally, total sales values were down 11.5%, with British Columbia posting the largest decrease (-33.0%). New Brunswick saw the largest year over year increase in sales volume, increasing 24.8% to $208 million.
In Alberta, Fort McMurray (+19.0%) and Grande Prairie (+10.4%) saw the largest year-over-year increases. Medicine Hat had the largest drop year-over-year in the province (-14.2%).
Alberta's sales value of $2.62 billion in June 2018 represented 10.7% of the Canadian total.
