The dollar volume of homes sold in Alberta through the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) decreased 10.0% to $1.40 billion in February 2018 compared to the same time period a year earlier. Nationally, total sales values were down 21.1%, with Ontario posting the largest decrease (-39.0%) .
Alberta's sales value of $1.19 billion in February 2018 represented 9.0% of the Canadian total. All areas of the province saw a decline in sales volume. Fort McMurray experienced the largest drop (-32.4%). Medicine Hat (-23.1%) and Grande Prairie (-19.0%) also had large declines.
