Oil production in Alberta was 12.98 million cubic metres in April 2017, up 1.9% compared to April 2016. Non-conventional (or oil sands) production constituted 83.8% of all oil production in Alberta during April 2017. Production of non-conventional was up 5.3% while conventional oil production saw a decline of 12.6% on a year-over-year basis.
