Alberta's international merchandise exports were $8.9 billion in May 2017, 59.1% higher than the same period last year. Canadian exports increased 23.5% over the same period. All product categories increased, with energy products (which made up 69.4% of exports) increasing by 81.1% and industrial machinery increasing 39.4% year-over-year.
