In April 2017, the value of Alberta's manufacturing sales increased 15.8% compared with April 2016, to $6.0 billion. Nationally, manufacturing shipments increased 7.6% over the same period. Machinery led all product categories in growth, up 63.3%, while petroleum and coal products were up 18.8% in April over the same period a year earlier.
