Alberta urban housing starts increased to 2,187 in August 2017, a year-over-year increase of 33.4%. Canadian starts increased 22.3% over the same period. All housing types except apartments (-24.2%) saw increases, with row units, which made up 17.4% of starts, increasing the most at 67.8%, while single-detached units, which made up 56.1% of starts, increased 44.6%.
