Urban housing starts increased to 2,540 in April 2017, a year-over-year increase of 15.4%. Canadian starts increased 12.8% over the same period. Row units, which made up 15.9% of starts, saw the largest increase in Alberta at 90.1%, with single-detached and semi-detached increasing 44.8% and 33.9% respectively. Apartments, which made up 29.7% of starts, decreased 25.8% year-over-year.
