Urban housing starts increased to 2,613 in June 2017, a year-over-year increase of 34.2%. Canadian starts decreased 2.9% over the same period. Single-detached units, which made up 48.9% of starts, saw the largest increase in Alberta at 51.3%. Apartments and row units rose 42.0% and 23.4%, respectively, while semi-detached units declined 5.7%.
