Urban housing starts increased to 2,580 in May 2017, a year-over-year increase of 52%. Canadian starts increased 2% over the same period. Apartments, which made up 31.2% of starts, saw the largest increase in Alberta at 71.6%. Row and Single-detached rose 54.1% and 46.2%, respectively.
