The number of air passengers passing through Alberta's three largest airports increased 5.3% in December 2017 compared to the same period a year earlier. 45.6% of those passengers went through Calgary International Airport as domestic passengers. The largest increase was seen in Calgary's international traffic (+16.6%), while Fort McMurray's domestic traffic saw the only decline (-9.5%) compared to the same month a year earlier. Overall Alberta airports saw a 3.9% increase in passengers in 2017 compared with 2016.
